This topic will briefly cover the recommended guidelines for posting topics in any of the Trade Post boards, and responding to them.
First of all, keep the number of threads you have to a minimum. Rather than look for one particular item with one thread and post what you have for the same type in another, roll it all together into one thread, giving the following info:
- What you are looking for in that category
- What you are willing to trade in that category
- What you have to offer in other categories (it's best to link threads as a web; more on this later)
- Whether or not you're willing to pay for what you're looking for
- Whether or not you will trade only in your own country, or certain countries.
When you are listing what you have, it's important to give as much info as you can, such as:
- Condition (does it have its original tag? is it dirty? etc)
- Size
- Manufacturer
- Origin (where you bought it, examples include eBay, toy store, etc)
- Photo (a critical thing to have, but rather than posting the images themselves, use the link text code to direct the user to the image of the plush, to minimize load time on your thread).
These things aren't necessarily mandatory, but they should be providable if requested. Especially the photographs.
The more details you can provide, and the better the quality of the picture, the better. Also note that stock photos of the item should not be relied upon for the purpose of showing the quality of the item, as they do not show the true quality of the item in hand.
When it comes to trading, you might consider crossing over product types, such as offering plushes for figures. In this case, rather than listing all of the items again, simply add a link into your post that directs the reader to your other trade lots. So if I have a thread for Plushes and a thread for Figures, and wish to offer Figures to get the Plushes I want, I would mention this in my Plushes thread, and link my Figure thread to it.
If you are simply buying or selling instead, please make sure to complete the purchase through Paypal. In the event that something goes wrong, there is then a third party that can resolve the dispute. As part of our rule, we are not responsible for any items lost in the mail, or lost over a bad trade. If something does go wrong, please alert a staff member as soon as possible, and give as much relative information as needed. From there a decision can be made about the offending user.
Finally, if you do succeed in finding someone interested in an exchange or purchase, please do not exchange contact or personal information on the forum, as non-members are capable of viewing the pages. Instead, arrange the transaction through Private Messaging.
Happy Trading!
